Upcountry Aloha

Lily spent much of her childhood in Hawaii where she solidified her love of the ocean, Hawaiian culture and everything the islands have to offer. After raising a family in Minnesota and running a boutique in Indiana, Lily returns to the islands to call Maui home.

After attending Harvard University, Sean spent nine years snowboarding and running rivers as a professional guide in the mountains around Vail, Colorado. After several years of developing education software in scenic Arizona, he brings his love for the outdoors, vast customer service knowledge and leadership to Upcountry Aloha. Sean and Lily want to share their love of Hawaii.

Lily is a big scuba diver and was getting tired of overpaying for ponchos that everyone else would have. So she taught herself to sew. Started using Costco towels. As we made them as divers; we wanted to make sure you were able to change underneath, store a camera, a wallet, and also have a hood. Making the first upcountry poncho.

As we grew and we realized we couldn’t handle the amount of work we started hiring local seamstresses to help. After a few months we decided to get rid of the heavy towels and redirected using a quick dry, sand free micro fiber. Our designs are created mostly by my daughter. I love our unique one of a kind locally designed ponchos.
